A representative survey of adults aged 80 to 102 measured nature connectedness with two single-item indicators, one for perceived importance and one for frequency. The analysis confirmed the links between nature and the themes that earlier interviews had surfaced. Care for nature and the environment, which the authors call eco-generativity, was the construct that nature connectedness predicted most strongly.
