nature exposure improves attention and working memory in adults with intellectual disabilities

Viewing nature videos improved attentional and memory performance in adults with intellectual developmental disorders
This study is described as the first to examine the benefits of nature exposure on attention and working memory in adults with intellectual developmental disorders (TDI). Sixty-nine participants were assigned to one of three experimental groups based on exposure content: nature video, urban video, or geometric shapes. Results clearly showed that nature improved both attentional and memory performance, and participants demonstrated a marked preference for natural content. The authors suggest that facilities housing adults with TDI should integrate more natural spaces to provide restorative benefits in daily and professional life.
Les 69 participants ont été assignés à l'un des trois groupes expérimentaux selon le contenu de l'exposition (vidéo de nature; vidéo urbaine; formes géométriques).
