green space use reduces transition to relocation planning when noise is negligible
Exact: -0.46
When traffic noise annoyance at home is negligible, green space usage is linked to a lower probability of progressing to relocation planning
Model 2a introduced an interaction term between urban green space usage and traffic noise annoyance. The coefficient for green space usage on the considering-to-planning transition was −0.46 (p=0.001), indicating that at negligible noise levels, visiting parks and nature areas nearby acts as a compensatory strategy that keeps residents from committing to relocation. At higher noise levels this effect reverses.
The association between urban green space usage and the likelihood of transitioning to relocation planning changes direction (-0.46, p = 0.001), again indicating a moderating effect (Baron and Kenny 1986).
